Kaliyah Kirton

Kaliyah Kirton has been a member of Project Discovery for seven years. She is currently enrolled in the Bachelor’s of Science Degree in General Nursing programme at the Barbados Community College and is in her final year as a student nurse.

She hopes to become a registered nurse after completing her degree and has aspirations of being a midwife nurse as well as specializing in other facets of the diverse profession of nursing, in due time. In her leisure time, she has a fond love for hiking and reading. She also loves volunteer work and enjoy sports like netball, basketball, cricket, and gymnastics

Aliyah Sampson

Aliyah, a dedicated advocate for youth development, currently serves as the Vice President of Project Discovery. She is a committed student at Delaware State University pursuing a B.Sc. in Biology and has demonstrated consistent engagement with the organization since 2017. With a passion for empowering the youth in Barbados and the wider Caribbean, she aims to utilize her leadership abilities and educational background to nurture future leaders. Through her role, Aliyah strives to provide youth with the resources and guidance necessary to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Mekhi Nurse

Mekhi is a 17-year-old student at the Barbados Community College where he is pursuing an Associate Degree in Mathematics and Information Technology

Being a member of the Project Discovery organization has allowed him to enhance his leadership skills as well as explore and research his interests. He also acquires awareness of his surroundings as a citizen of the Caribbean and improves his communication skills and confidence. These experiences and the skills he developed through Project Discovery have pushed him to find smart solutions to challenging problems.

Faith Moore

Faith Moore is a seventeen-year-old student of the Barbados Community College, who is in her second and final year of the Associate Degree Program in Computer Studies. She plans to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Accounting upon completion of her current course of study.

Faith enjoys participating in sports, particularly bike riding and lawn tennis. She likes volunteering, which was the initial inspiration for her to join Project Discovery. Faith further realized that the organization was also about enhancing her development and leadership skills. She looks forward to continued involvement and acquisition of skills and opportunities which are presented within the Organization.

Romario Bishop

Romario Bishop is an 18-year-old student currently in his final year at the Barbados Community College, pursuing an associate degree in Computer Science. His passion for how technology can be integrated to benefit society ignited his love for technology.

Along with his love for technology, Romario enjoys playing chess. Joining Project Discovery became a natural step for Romario, driven by a desire to enhance his own skills while contributing to the growth of others. As a Communications Officer at Project Discovery, he aims to fortify his interpersonal skills. By leveraging his passion for technology, Romario is dedicated to guiding Project Discovery through the complexities of the digital landscape in this era.

Nyeka Gibson

Nyeka Gibson is a 16-year-old first-year student at Barbados Community College, where she is majoring in Mass Communication. She is a dedicated reader, writer, and puzzle enthusiast.

Drawing her inspiration from local journalist Krystal Hoyte, Nyeka aspires to one day become a voice for those whose stories need to be heard. Her faith plays a significant role in her life, guiding her values and decisions as she pursues her dreams. Nyeka has had the opportunity to be a part of an internship program where she honed her attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.

Though naturally introverted, she consistently challenges herself to grow pushing herself beyond her comfort zone. Project Discovery has been a significant influence in her journey, providing her with the tools and confidence to develop both personally and professionally
